Like I have said before, you never know what a new day will bring. Today we have a new picture. B's birth father did visit Bereket this weekend and all was well with that. He went to embassy this morning with the Illien reps and was told that they didn't have any interview appointment available for him!! This left me steaming mad when I found out. Embassy was eager to hear what he had to say through their investigators, but can't fit him in their schedule to hear the real facts of the story, not to mention he came all the way into the city. They told him to come back next week.
This morning I had an e-mail back from my buddy Scott R. at Embassy and he FINALLY responded back to my e-mail about Eden being escorted. Since embassy had already told the Illien Rep "no!" we just figured we would not hear any more about that, even without further explanation. But, behold, AFTER I purchase a plane ticket so I can just get her myself, he e-mails me back to say she COULD be escorted!! I have to say, though, the e-mail was VERY unprofessional. Mr. Scott was just a tad confused. Here, he was the one who wrote the e-mail about Bereket's case being denied, and then replies again about Bereket's case after I sent my e-mail about my feelings and take on the case. Then, in this letter he is referring to the escort as Bereket. I did not understand it until Brett read it and she figured out what he was "intending" to say!! I would think they would take time with their e-mails, but it looks like they treat the e-mails just like their cases!! ERRGH!!
The latest development is tomorrow we should be hearing back from our agency about Eden being escorted home with Tsedey. Her Embassy interview that she was to have with me is a week from today and then that will be enough time to get her visa processed for her to fly out on the plane with Tsedey and an eight year old girl who is going to Texas on Tuesday night!! We'll see what tomorrow brings, but as of now, it looks like I will be canceling my tickets. Really, it is probably the most practical option since we will eventually have to go get Bereket, ....sometime!

The twists & turns!! Really keeps you hopping. Thanks for sharing...hope Eden makes it without difficulty and that everything gets straightened around with Bereket's birth father.
