We have had quite the day, today. Everyone is gone to work and school except the three of us and even though we talked to Eden last night about it, she still has questioned where Daddy and the kids are and confirmed again and again that they would come back home.
Rewind a couple of days to Saturday. Our morning had all went pretty well. Eden has hardly blinked an eye at all the new food we have introduced her to. She just eats... and eats!! I loved watching Cyrus eager to interact with Eden and even though she was hesitant with him, he continued, sure to win her over!
Eden helped me put Katreese's hair like hers.
Sisters. We had our ritual Saturday morning bible study, but kept it brief. Eden sat on the couch with Cade, Bella, and I taking it all in. After that everyone was eager to get outside, except me, who was still in my pajamas!!! Time for me to get dressed, so Eden went outside with Cade and the kids. I had watched her with our dog and she had been fine up until that time. Grouser (the dog) stayed his distance and she was OK, but Saturday morning she had her scare. (I was aware that this could be a problem) She completely went in a panic when the dog came by them and Cade tried to pick her up and hold her but she was completely panicked yelling and running away. Needless to say, it was really hard on Daddy, feeling completely helpless.
Eden had her first ride on the Ranger ATV with Cyrus driving, and then later with Cade, as he was determined to show her he wasn't so bad!! She loved it!! The evening was when Eden had her first major meltdown. I knew she was tired and she had not had a nap in the days since her coming here. She was ready for her pajamas after our supper, but when I told her about her bath, she wasn't too excited. When I told her we had to wash her hair, she was even more unhappy!! I would have skipped it, but decided maybe it was wise to go ahead and do one more lice treatment just in case, even though Tsedey told me it is all gone and that is why her hair was free when she arrived! I noticed her itching her scalp, so I was a little worried and honestly, there was no way I could do a thorough observation in her hair. Number 1, she has so much hair, it is hard to get to her scalp, number 2, she just is not tolerating me doing too much with her hair in general right now. She gets anxious, and that could have to do with the nannies working her hair over with the lice medication treatments we had sent over to ET for her. Anyway, after finally getting her through her bath, I had to comb her hair out and she was so tired!! Once again, I hit the bed and was beat tired.

Loved the last few posts, Angela! Is there a time difference that she has to get used to at all?
Yes, Emily, like a 12 hr difference, but Eden has done really well. She has slept wonderfully at night!!
Thank you so so much for sharing your first days, love to read about it!!! Welcome to America Little One!
Very nice to learn how your family is changing and so wonderful that children can adapt to new situations.
What a experience for all of you! She seems to be adjusting well and is such a cutie!
I feel like I haven't been very good at keeping in touch with you, but know that you have been heavy on my heart and Eden has gotten lots and lots of prayers from this Momma over the past week as I think about the huge change this is in her little life. As well in all of yours. Love you guys. Glad Eden is "home". Hugs.
