I also found out that Eden does indeed still have lice! AGGGH! Thankfully, another family was traveling to ET this week and took 3 bottles of medication over for Eden!! I just know how rapidly those lice multiply, so I am glad for anything to help out. I do not expect to get Eden lice free, but anything to cut down on the existing lice would be great, especially considering her hair!!
Today their monthly updates and pictures came in and as always, I have been looking forward to seeing them! We got additional information that Bereket may have serious motion sickness!! When they transported him by car to have his passport processed, he evidently threw up almost the whole time!! They said that once he was back to the orphanage he was fine and had a good night! It may have something to do with the fact that when they picked him up he had just finished up his lunch and had a very full stomach.
Needless to say, they are a bit worried about how he will do on the airplane and wanted to prepare us. I am hopeful that it was just a one time incident, though, because another time after that he was transported by car again for his medical examination and was fine! However, we will be on high alert and prepared!!
They say that Bereket is doing very well again and does well on his own!
Eden got to meet Bereket for the first time and they said she was very happy to meet her brother. She said, "I am lucky to have a brother and I love small kids."
They also said that she is growing active and loving. She loves learning English and is doing well. She also wants to know when her family is coming and was told to wait a bit.
This picture is Eden with her tutor learning English.
It is hard to wrap my mind around her words, "I am lucky." This little girl has seen so much and experienced so much loss at such a young age and yet she says, "I am lucky!!" It definitely warmed my heart to hear that she is looking for her family to come!! My heart also aches to get to them. I have to admit, this adoption is just wearing on me at this point!! It has been over one year and a half since we started the adoption process. These months since we met them have been the hardest, by far, emotionally. It's the separation after having met them and started bonding with them in just three days... Yet, after so much anticipation, papers, praying, I can't believe it is almost time to pack our bags to bring them home forever!!
If all goes well, our case will be filed for embassy on Monday and then we will wait to set up an embassy appointment!

So very exciting that the time is getting closer for you to bring them home.!! Cant wait to met them!!
About the car-sickness...Cambrie was the same way. We found out she had thrown up all OVER the place right before she was brought to us. She also threw up an enormous amount when we went to visit her orphanage/foster home. I guess it's common with kids who aren't used to riding in cars (she had only been in one a handful of times). It slowly got better...she threw up once in the car when we first got home and she still gets queasy on buses. The airplanes did not bother her a bit, thankfully. We drove some extremely windy roads on vacation and she was fine. So hopefully it's just something Bereket has to grow out of/get used to! Just try not to feed him much before you're in a car or bus.
Tammia,
That is good to know!! Glad that Cambrie is doing better with the car sickness. The worst part of it for us, is that we live on a very windy road!! Out of five children, none of them ever were bothered by it, so this prob. will be quite a different experience!
