Monday Madness

My post title pretty much sums up the day so far but with BOTH girls asleep for their nap time, I want to take the opportunity to catch up a little from our crazy weekend!!  First off, I feel the need to explain that this blog is a lot for me (journaling and venting) but also I started it for those who are far away (especially my family) who would love to keep up with our adoption process.  With so many relatives who live far away, sometimes I feel sad that they are missing out on so much of my kids' lives and this is one way that I feel like I can help a little to make the miles which separate us keep them from missing out on everything!

Some highlights from our weekend was Eden going to Cyrus' last football game of the season (and Eden's first football game ever.)  It was so cold that we didn't get to stay for Caven's varsity game.  In fact, we had to leave and get food after Cyrus' game and get warmed up and then we went back for Senior night at the game.  Eden was so intrigued and fascinated (not one bit shy or intimidated with all the people), that she denied being cold, even though I kept putting a blanket over her and warming her hands, which she wouldn't keep in her pockets long enough to warm!!  When we got home, she slept with her coat on!!

Eden lost her first tooth in our home.  It has been bothering her for a few nights now and she would get pretty upset when it started bleeding and was loose.  She wanted me to pull it out, but I just couldn't.  Finally, on Saturday night when we were eating supper (tamales), her tooth came out and she was pretty upset.  She got her mouth rinsed out and realized the tooth was gone (we never found it but I think she spit it out with the tamale in her mouth), she recovered and finished her food!!  Not much keeps her from finishing her food!  These pictures were taken after supper and as you can tell in these pictures, she was doing well!!  She had such a fun time teasing Daddy and playing games with him!!  I love hearing her giggle!!

We woke up to SNOW at our house on Sunday morning.  Eden was pretty interested in it and when she saw Cade outside cleaning off the sidewalk (for our Union Meeting ), she ran out in her bare feet!!!!  Didn't take her long to get back in the house though!!

On Sunday we had Union Meeting in our home so I was really a little nervous at how Eden would do with people (strangers to her) coming in our home, but she was just great!!  Don and Coleen and their kids were here, so that was nice!!  Thankfully, it was not for too long of time that we had company and then we had the rest of the day to be together just our family again!!  These pictures were taken Sunday evening.  You can see she is still dressed in her Sunday clothes!!  No way did she want to change HER clothes!!!  The girls were trying to play games and Eden and Bella were eating chips and salsa!!  You can see in this picture that we went through quite a bit of salsa in one night!!

My two sweet girls that I get to have home with me all day long are really making huge progress in getting along and showing their love for each other!!  My heart just overflows with thankfulness to see these pictures and see the two making such great progress!!

Mommy put Eden's hair in cornrows so that when we have to go to Sacramento tomorrow (we have to get our fingerprints updated for Bereket's case), I won't have to comb her hair!!  Eden was working on her schoolwork while I braided her hair!  I left the braids hanging loosely, but I was able to understand that she wanted them pulled together like this!!  She has such beautiful hair!!

A picture where neither of them are pulling away!!  LOVE!!  Happy Monday!
