First Post Placement Report

Today our social worker from our home study agency came for our first visit since Eden arrived home.  As crazy as it is, Ethiopia requires post placement reports 3 months AFTER the child has passed court (July1st for Eden), then 6 months, and 1 year.  Since the reports are due from the day they passed court, the three month mark has already passed, so out social worker lady was eager to get here even though it has only been 2 weeks since Eden arrived home!

I just feel very thankful today that things are really going well with Eden being home!!  There has been so much adjustment, but when Becky (the social worker) asked if there were any concerns at this point, I told her the only concern I have right now is about having to leave to bring Bereket home.  (We still have not gotten cleared with his case, but really expect it to happen any day!)  Becky was very impressed with how well Eden is doing and how well she understands direction.  Let me tell you, I do not pat my back in this.  So much of it has to do with the child, her circumstances from which she has come from, and more!!  I just truly feel thankful to be at this place right now with her.  Still, we don't want to forget that we are still in the "honeymoon phase."

I am also so thankful for such a great day Yesterday and today with family, just being home and being together!!!  Eden was a little confused that there was no school Yesterday, but I actually had a chance to make some important phone calls since the older kids were around.  It amazes me how over time a successful and prosperous day changes in my mind!!

Happy Weekend to you all and hopefully soon I will be able to post good news about Bereket!!!

This girl amazes me!!  We are so happy to have her in our family!!
