Bereket's Case

Once again, I find myself sharing some really hard news!!  It would be easier to not post anything, especially today, but I do know some people are really eager to hear the news!

Today we were issued an RFE.  For those of you who do not know what this is, it is a request for more evidence!!  We were not prepared for this.  Honestly, once again, no one was really expecting it, although, after all we have been through, I was worried!  However, I was remaining optimistic for my family most of all!  The worst part of it is that the RFE does NOT indicate that they received all of the information.  In other words, it is looking like there was information withheld by Embassy, especially concerning the interview that took place with the birth father!!  This is not right and I am infuriated, shocked (by now, it shouldn't be shocking), and saddened beyond words!! 

What does this mean?  It means that it is wisest to get an attorney involved (more $$$)and have the attorney put together a brief to resubmit to USCIS in Rome!  It means more heartache in waiting, more stress($$$), more headaches (especially getting law involved), and getting local congressmen involved.  No bones about it, this is super hard!!  Today I feel like my heart is being twisted and tore in half.  I had such hope that we could get Bereket soon!!

I have talked with our agency, an attorney, and we are formulating a plan, but I truly don't have the heart to get into all the details.  This for now!


This sweet boy is our son and a part of our hearts and alive in our home even though he isn't here!  Keeping hope alive!
