Another huge victory is that Eden volunteered to take the dog food out to the dog dish, regardless that the dog was not close. She has had such a huge fear of the dog and cat, well, and pretty much all animals, for that matter!! I would not even suggested to her to take the dog food out right now!
Today we had our usual walk to get the mail and I had to bring my camera because these two cutie pies are just begging for Momma to take their picture! Not really, but the way Eden poses, you would think so!!
The two girls are still very unsure of the other one. Bella does not trust Eden but is eager to "help" her big sister even though Eden is very independent and not interested in help, especially from Bella. Bella learned that Eden can zip her coat, though, and was amazed at this! Eden hears Bella cry and she asked, "Why?"
Bella has been watching and learning new poses from her new sister. Bella is also very independent and when Eden tries to help her out, Bella rarely is too eager to accept! Yet, she wants to be right with Eden, doing the same thing, making sure she is getting plenty of attention too!
It is funny, though, because there are things that Eden does not know how to do, so she watches Bella (and the older girls) whether we are eating or raking leaves!
Here Eden is looking over at Grouser, our dog, to make sure he stays laying. She will stay close to me as long as the dog is anywhere close, but Bella is leading the way of course!!Lovin' putting this girls hair in braids and winning her approval! The part is not quite straight, but pretty much nit free!! YAYY!
She would be walking along and then just stop all the sudden and get into a pose so I could take her picture!! Funny girl!
And then Bella would have to do the very same pose of course!!
Lately, as Eden is getting more and more comfortable in our home she will revert to her language more when she gets excited, or she sings in Amharic. She loves to pray at the dinner table and you would never have to worry about us forgetting to pray when she is around!! The other day she told me she wanted to pray for the food. I said, "OK, Eden pray." She started and then said, "Me no English pray." So I asked her if she wanted Mommy to help her. She said, "Yes!" She has heard the older kids pray for our meals and I know she has a prayer memorized in Amharic. The other night I caught Bella pretending and she was pretend talking in Amharic, like her sister!! Oh, and the flip-flops? You mean it isn't summer anymore? Well, after Eden got here I had some sandals still out for her and she LOVES her flip-flops and sandals and prefers them over any other shoes. I had to dig Bella's back out of a box so she could wear flip-flops too!!
Happy day to you all! The girls are looking forward to going to ballet later today! It will be a nice little outing!
