Quiet

What other words could I describe our last couple of days without Eden?  ...peaceful, calm, wierd, relaxed...!  The older girls and I talked about it.  The difference is such a contrast to the days before she left.  Our family dynamics have changed so much!  Yet, like a mother's heart should, I miss her!  I think about her and wonder what she is doing and how she is doing, but I am very thankful that she is with someone that I COMPLETELY trust, in all areas!!  That may sound like a huge compliment, well, it is!!!

Eden did fairly well on our early morning ride to meet Krista.  She spent almost all her time eating, a hard boiled egg, then a slice of apple we shared, and then she took comfort in her sausage egg mcmuffin as if it could be her last meal!  The parting was quick and to the point, intending to be the least brutal.  She was stiff but responsive as I assured her that Mommy loves her and she would soon be coming back to her family.  She needed to hear those things!

the beginning of our day - driving to OR w/ Eden

our day started by looking like this, rainy and glum

My girls at a little ol' mall, happy with their orange julius'!

Headed back to Medford, sunny and beautiful

my 2 older girls and I

Our time together was precious!
The time I had on Wednesday with Treva and Katreese was so valuable.  I can't even remember the last time it was just the three of us, besides one time we three went together to Treva's basketball awards night.  I spoiled them a little (okay, plenty)!  We looked for an eighth grade graduation dress for Treva without being rushed.  She found two that she is debating between.  I love to see these two together when they are truly enjoying one another and hear them give each other genuine compliments!  It is the sweetest thing ever!!  We had a full, happy day!

I am reading a book "Ten Thousand Gifts" by Ann Voskamp (a friend gave it to me for my birthday) and there have been a couple things so far that have really stood out to me!  Here are a few:

"Haste makes waste."

"Hands of the clock whip hard.  So I push hard and I bark hard and I fall hard...  The hurry makes us hurt."

anyone relate?!!

"Hurry always empties a soul."

"Wherever you are, be all there.  I have lived the runner, panting ahead in worry, pounding back in regrets, terrified to live in the present, because here - time asks me to do the hardest of all: just open wide and receive."

so true for me...

So right now I am focusing on being thankful for all things and finding beauty in all things and enjoying each moment even in an imperfect world.
