Our plan was to get Eden on Sunday or Monday (originally) but a call from our friend, Krista, Yesterday changed that when I heard that Eden was having extreme pain in her right side. They were headed back to Krista's home in Oregon and we were wondering if she maybe had appendicitis! When hearing that the pain was not getting better and she was wanting me, I put myself together to go meet Krista and get Eden.
Let's rewind my Saturday. I woke up early in the morning for a 10 mile run (it was a beautiful, spring day) since I am getting ready for the Pear Blossom run in a couple of weeks. I had three extra kids staying at my house since the Sacramento cousins were up for the weekend which was really nice. When I got back from my run, Cade and the girls were making sourdough pancakes and eggs and things were coming along quite well for breakfast so I got in the shower. Anyway, let's just say that I maybe sat a total of 10-15 minutes the whole day after breakfast and our bible study (my decision) because I was getting my lawn thatched and then that required raking up the dead grass afterwards (thanks for all the help, kids!!) and I knew rain was coming so I just decided on a whim to cut the grass next (a little backwards) and then apply the fertilizer before the rain. When Krista called at maybe 4:30 - 5 pm, I was still mowing and I was so dirty from thatching and working outside!
So, after a quick shower, packing my bags for uncertainty, lining the kids out somewhat for dinner, and my hubby getting home, I headed out to meet Krista. I ended up driving about 3 1/2 hrs to meet her and by then Eden's pain had subsided after some pain reliever. We did a quick switch and around 10:30 I headed back south to Medford. I pulled into the ER in Medford around 12:30 am and Eden was fast asleep and I am thinking, "Maybe I should just go home!" but I knew that she was in so much pain and was a bit worried still. After a couple of hours there, they did an x-ray and urine sample and decided she was majorly constipated (which I had thought of but we didn't think it was that). Anyway, I pulled into our driveway around 3:30 am on Easter morning, tired and very worn out.
Needless to say, our Easter did not go as anticipated. This morning Eden and I stayed and slept after the rest of the crew was off for Sunday morning fellowship meeting. Clothing was not a high priority, or actually, it was a priority that my kids were clothed but that was about it! Anyway, Eden and I did make it to dinner with the family and for the Easter egg fun!!!
