Haloween Festivities

The Seiad School put on a carnival / party for the school and community to give kids better options other than trick-or-treating (in the pouring rain) this year.  My eldest daughter became quite involved in helping organize the carnival.  I wondered last night as I was manning a booth at the carnival, "How did I get pulled into this when I already have 150 other things that are more important than this?"  Then, I looked over to my daughter who is growing into a fine young lady, who was working along beside me, and I realized amongst all the crazy, I was building memories with my daughter that I won't regret.  After all, it was her (& she had some help from her bestie, who is our neighbor and come after school 2 nights this week before the party) who made all 12 jello brains for our booth, wrote me a list of everything I needed to bring to school (which was all together for the most part), put together the gift bags, wrote down a schedule of the time we were to have a brain-eating contest (we drew names from a basket), and made signs for our booth!  I enjoyed watching to see how independent and responsible Treva has become, and may I say, headstrong and perseverant?!!  While I would have liked to have more time with my "littles", it was an enjoyable time for all and a great outcome!

I did not get pictures of every booth either!  There was such a great involvement from the parents that really helped the carnival to be a success!!  I might add that the brain-eating contest was to get as many "internals" from in the brain by only using your mouth - no hands in  2 minutes.  We put in fruit, gummies, worms, etc!  A fun, and yes, busy, and yes, crazy time was had by all!!
