Happy Monday

Today Bella, Bereket, and I were excited for Little B's appointment at the doctor's office, because he got his cast off!!! He wore a cast for about 6 1/2 weeks!  About three weeks ago his cast was also taken off and they took x-rays which showed great healing taking place.  Bereket did very well with the little saw they used to take his cast off.  It was interesting today, though, because he cried almost the entire time they had the saw going even though he already knew it didn't hurt.  It may sound odd, but I was happy he cried and nestled closer into my chest and looked up in my eyes to make sure everything was all right!  It shows progress, that he is not pulling in to himself but letting his fears out.  Anyway, the crying did not last long and then he was on to his normal little, cheery, chatty (we were around people) self.  Ahh, well.  Sometimes I wonder if the crying was cancelled out due to the "company charm" he put on at the hospital and stores.  It just seems he was more outgoing than normal.  He knows he almost ALWAYS gets a response from strangers.

Delighted to have the cast off!!

Bella's photography skills (that's her finger in the corner!)

However, today we are celebrating the cast coming OFF!!  It is SO very nice not to have to carry that "thing" around anymore and  to dodge it.  About a week ago he "casted" himself.  He tripped on the carpet and fell down and made a great big scrape along his right cheek from his cast!  (Other members of the family have also been "casted" by him even though it wasn't intentional.)  Now, I am trying to keep him from picking it so it can heal up!

This week we also did some celebrating for Eden's Adoption "gotcha" Day!  This is some of what we did.

I made dorowat served with injera for her.

Cyrus made a cake for her and put her
name on it with whipping cream.

Eden with her cake (we even sang to her!)!!
Last night we spent some time looking though videos of when she arrived at the airport and a few of her first days!  It was amazing to see how far she has come and to remember how she was the first while of being here!  She hardly ever sat still, she was on overload, learning everything and very demanding!  Interesting, but it was good for the whole family to remember...!
