My last week started out being optimistic and yet I fell hard a few times and by the end of the week with company and extra things going on, I was left feeling pretty overwhelmed but the amazing part if that I ended the week (actually started it on Sunday) feeling thankful! I am glad that I can say that through our extra privileges, company, encouragement, and most of all... fellowship....I feel thankful! We heard that the devil cannot work in a thankful heart.
The truth is, I have been discouraged a lot lately.... and overwhelmed!! My kids pick up on it (especially my newbies because they are still super sensitive!) and then it feels like the whole house is discouraged and negative! I think I get too caught up in the chores of every day and forget to just enjoy and appreciate each moment with thankfulness! I decided I want to try to focus more on what I have to be thankful for.
Today, I feel thankful for:
*Company that left this morning and encouraged us this morning!
*My kids - truly sometimes I forget to see all the good in them!
*My husband - working to keep us set for a winter that is getting close!
*Clean and folded clothes that smell wonderful!
*The smell of fresh bread - nothing like finding out there is no bread in the freezer but it works good for motivation!
*Airplane ticket receipt so I can go to San Diego with my sis next month!
*Talking with my sister on the phone and being reminded that life is full of unknowns (she told me about the funeral service that she went to for the man who was shot in his line of duty - border patrol, from the same unit as my sister's!
*Fresh Peets coffee!
*Cool, cozy fall mornings
*Long naps taken by the youngest 2 because they are exhausted from the weekend.
*An opportunity for a short nap myself
