Whirlwind Weekend

Our Saturday was a very busy day!  We didn't want to miss out on the oldest and very first Crawford cousin to graduate from high school.  John and Susan's oldest, Caven, graduated from Yreka High.  Cyrus was not feeling well but was bound and determined to make it with us to see Caven graduate and while I could tell he definitely was not up to par, I couldn't blame him for not wanting to miss it!  Caven and Cyrus have done a lot together in the past year since Cyrus started his freshman year at Yreka High.  I felt like Cyrus needed to be there as well.

The day turned out to be much warmer than expected and since the graduation was outdoors, everyone was VERY warm and there was always an audible sigh that could be heard when a straggling cloud would cover the sun for a moment!  Eden was extremely warm as well as Bereket.  Eden's face actually turned colors as she braved it out and she kept wanting to touch Cade and I and we were both hot.  Bereket was on my lap and he had sweat running down his scalp.  I finally was able to encourage him to stay laid against my chest so I could shield his face from the sun or fan him with a ceremonial pamphlet!   I became emotional thinking of these kids growing up and then to think that my turn will be here before I know it!!  My heart went out to Susan, amidst her busy week I was sure she was facing many emotions thinking of her eldest leaving their nest!!

After the ceremony was over and we had some time to visit with Caven and family, we headed back home since Cyrus was really not feeling good.  We had a couple of hours for some lunch and I was even able to sneak a small nap and then we got ready to go to a wedding in Happy Camp.

This made for a late night on Saturday and then up early again on Sunday for meeting in Yreka and potluck and reception for Caven's graduation, as well as Dynna's eighth grade graduation!

 That was all of the pictures I got from Sunday.  Too bad, but I found myself busy keeping up with the littles, and then holding Bereket because he was tired out!!
