I laid in bed wanting to go back to sleep but thoughts started go through my mind and well..... probably most of you understand.... that was the end of my sleep. I thought of the past days with Eden and hoped desperately that today would be different. I put on my running shoes and went for a morning run.
After getting home I had quiet time with a coffee cup in hand while I waited for the kids to rise! I waited for quite some time. As I was preparing for breakfast and putting the clean dishes away in the dishwasher, Eden strode into the kitchen and before she even said one word, I knew that this was indeed a different day!! Eden chirped, "Good morning Mommy!" and my heart was glad. I sat down on one of our kitchen chairs and took her in my lap and we hugged and kissed and she was ready to talk (Yesterday she hardly said one word to me)!
It has been a good day. Once I herded all the kids outdoors after breakfast, getting dressed, brushing teeth, and combing hair, Eden said very confidently, "This is going to be a good day. The sun is shining!" Interestingly enough, we have had the weirdest weather for our June in the past week. We have had a lot of rain and cool weather. I suppose that was all I needed for an excuse to start a project. What better weather to start digging a rock path?!! Cool weather, soft ground, and a lot of good helping hands!!
This project has been a good deterrent for us in the past days and I really enjoy the hard labor ( I know that sounds weird but sometimes I just need it!)! Katreese is with her cousin in Yreka and so Treva has her cousin here staying with us, Terra. Together they have been such a big help, especially with lunch since about the time I am just getting started outside the kids are wanting some lunch!! Today Treva asked if they could put together a picnic lunch. I decided something special would be a very lovely way to spend this great day!!
