It's the 27th!

Eden has now been home for 5 months and Bereket has been home for 2 months on today!!

This post has to be quick because we are getting ready to go south for dental surgery again for Eden.  Yes, unfortunately, but the truth is that Eden's dental issues are going to be an ongoing thing.  She has two permanent teeth coming in the same place above her baby eye tooth that was infected and is still very sensitive.  It is so hard to decipher if her teeth are just sensitive or if it is a problem that needs to be addressed, especially if it means another infection.  She may have to deal with some sensitivity with her existing baby teeth (even the ones that are capped) until her permanent teeth come in. Even her permanent teeth are coming in deformed, stained, and unhealthy!!  It is so sad, but I think this is probably due to malnutrition, even leading to her mother!!

I like to think on how far these two have come in their months of being home!!  It really helps when I hit some hard days (such as Yesterday with Bereket!!!).  With Eden we have been trying to address her fears and while we have been doing that, I have found that she tends to get very uptight and anxious.  One thing I have found helpful is to have her do a couple laps around the house and then it seems like we are able to talk through it better!  This is exciting, because there are times I want to talk with her but she is so anxious (like the other day when she ripped her kleenex to shreds - she was crying)and she has such a hard time getting her words out because she is so anxious!!!

I have started doing sign language with Bereket.  This is something I planned to start as soon as we got him home, but when that time came I felt like it may be too overwhelming for him at that time (he was taking in so many new things!!).  Anyway, my big proud and victorious moment was on Saturday when I was starting dinner and Bereket came into the kitchen on his own and signed "eat" to me!!!  YAYY!  Now, as some of you may remember, he used to not tell us when he was hungry, when he was full, or much of any of his needs.  He now knows how to sign more, eat, water, finished(all done), and yes and no!!  He is still learning and he loves using his hands!!  It is super cute!!

Now we are off on other expedition to Redding and on down to Chico on Wednesday where Eden will be sedated so she can get x-rays, a full cleaning, and they can determine whether to do a root canal on her baby eye tooth (that was infected) and whether they should surgically remove one of the permanent teeth coming in above the eye tooth.  With Eden being sedated and in the OR, it gives the doctor more options to what he can do and honestly, he doesn't have a game plan that we are aware of!!!!  We really don't want to be doing this every two months, though, but we are just trying to focus on one step at a time with her teeth!

Bereket showing 2 btw~

Eden, being her sweet self

Of course we have to get a picture of Bella too!

I can't leave Bella out of the story!  Really, she is going to have a post all of her own here pretty soon!!  To think of how she has transformed and went through in the past five months is quite a thing!!  More than that, I am so proud of how she is doing!!!  I keep thinking she is going to start acting out one of these days and I will see her "lack of attention" showing through.  We try very hard to give her attention and love as well, but our "newbies" just need more care and attention still!  That is not to say that she is perfect in any way.  She still is a little three year old and she does have her moments but they are very far and few between!!  I love her even more after these past five months!
