Anyway, they will be gone for around 10 days. Now, why may I be feeling anxious?
Back to Halloween. Once again, I told myself it is super silly to spend money on costumes that the kids would wear ONE day (and not even a whole day at that!) so I kinda picked the younger kids' costumes. Katreese's request was to be a bride, so I told her I would look at Goodwill for a dress (I knew the kids would play dress up with it afterwards.) So, here are the costumes I came up with for the kids.
The kids had fun at the school carnival and afterwards we went to our friends for pizza!! One story about scary masks is that one of the parents at the school carnival had a scary dog looking mask with fur and the mouth was open, showing sharp teeth and red mouth!! It was pretty gross. Anyway, Eden was scared VERY badly by the mask and the worst part is that he was just holding it and then he put it on all of the sudden and looked at her and caught her off guard! I could have wringed this guy's neck, I'm telling you. Eden shrieked and came running to me and one of the mothers said to him, "Not her!!" He apologized again and again. If he had any idea about Eden's history with dogs, he would better understand but I was still shaking my head in frustration at his thoughtlessness!! Then again, I supposed most kids these days are desensitized to all of these masks and costumes because of the television and war games....! Bereket was very scared about it too. I had to hold him whenever we got anywhere close to the mask and made him look at me. That was Eden's second bad scare of the day and the other one happened to be a parent also who was dressed up and was wearing those freaky looking contacts that make your eyes look really weird. She told me she scared Eden and I told her, "You scare me too looking at those eyes!" It is not fun consoling my children (youngest three) when it is supposed to be fun and games!!
