Turning 360 Degrees

Our morning started out exciting right off the bat.  I should have known, right?!  We had freezing rain this morning and as I stepped out on our cement, I almost did a face plant (or behind plant) on the cement!  It was so icy!!  In my mind, that was my warning that we would have to make sure to leave early for school because it was definitely going to be icy roads!

However, the early did not happen, not surprisingly.  My dear Eden was still reacting to being separated from me for one day and two nights at Grandpa and Grandma's house, without her choice.  This was also not surprising.  She was also still reacting to the evening before of consequences because of bad choices she had made when she was at Grandpa and Grandma's house (which I had counseled her clearly and thoroughly before her leaving).  The consequence was a result of an early night to bed with no extra talking attention from Mommy.

However, I felt strangely relieved that we were not early, because had we been on time or a bit early, we may have found ourselves in an accident.  There is a lady we meet every morning (she goes out the river for work) and we are always headed to school.  We found her waving her arms frantically on the side of the road, with her truck nosedived into the embankment fully in our lane.  Yes, the "what ifs" coursed through my brain, leaving me anxious but thankful as I continued very slowly down the river to school.  The sweetest thing, though, was my eldest daughter hopping out of the Excursion to go in to school and then poking her head back in to tell me "bye" again and telling me to drive safely so I don't get in an accident! (smile)

My plans of going to Treva's basketball game at 4 pm in Montague were changed, as well as my plans to decorate the cake I made for Bereket's gotcha day since I need a couple of things from the store.  I planned on picking Cyrus up from weight lifting and those plans fell through with my being out in town as well, not to mention my new plans of picking the three girls up in Seiad from school changed when my hubby called to say he could bring them home.  SO, what's a girl gotta do?!  I really didn't want to go anywhere anyway!!  The weather is dreadful outside, my two "littles" are getting their naps slept out, and I had the luxury of one myself, without feeling anxious to head off for school.  Some good, black coffee and a bit of blogging is just what the doctor ordered!!

The moral of the story?!  Learn to be flexible or your life could be miserable and learn to make the best of each situation!
