Remembering One Year Ago

I don't think I will ever forget the apprehension I had one year ago, as we were awaiting news from the Embassy regarding Bereket.  How could I ever forget the quiet mornings I would pad swiftly to the computer to check on ANY new news from the embassy.  It was often in the morning that I would receive emails from anyone in Ethiopia because of the time difference.

My mom rode back with our family after we were in Iowa visiting and enjoying family while the kids were on their school Christmas vacation.  After getting back we were apprehensive about Eden's dental surgery that was scheduled for the 18th of January (one year ago today).

The day after getting home from Eden's surgery, we were APPROVED!!  It was such a long-awaited moment that is was very emotional and surreal but we started making travel plans right away!  I find myself reflecting back to those days, flurry of emotions, excitement, anxiousness, nerves on edge,....WOW~  not to mention, helping Eden through the aftermath of her major surgery!  It was quite a thing!!
