Celebrating

Even with Yesterday's unexpected schedule, I decided in the morning to make a cake for Little B's gotcha day.  I thought I would put it in the freezer and pull it out whenever I wanted to decorate it to finish it and celebrate.  Yesterday afternoon my kiddos were home early for once and so I just decided to tackle it, thinking that my girls could use an extra project with me to keep them busy!  I had a cake in mind, but I didn't have several of the things I needed to complete decorating the cake.  That's where the word improvise comes in to play and we had to think...think...think!

We didn't have any pretzel rods for the globe, so I found some plastic knives, I didn't have any starbursts in the cupboard (we rarely have candy on hand) so we made some homemade taffy for the Africa (what a fun thing!!) and heart on Africa, as well as the cord that went around the globe!!  Didn't turn out too bad!  Amazing how creative we can be when the mind gets to work!!

Doesn't Bear look proud of his cake?!

I always end up with some goofy faces - no matter!

wow, a lot has changed in one year!
