May Busy Buzz Part II

On Friday after the ballet program our family drove to Klamath Falls so that I could run a 10K with my friend, Aleesha on Saturday morning.  I have had some reserves about this run for a while but since I missed the Pear Blossom 10 mile run, I really wanted to do this!  

First off, I just haven't had a lot of time to really "train" for a run.  Secondly, I ran one other time in Klamath Falls (when I was running quite frequently) with Alesha and the elevation change was dramatic for me!  I might add that it was a very hot day as well.  The last reservation was that I knew the run was hilly and on a small dirt trail, not nice pavement as the Pear.  Anyway, putting all those things aside, I HAVE been doing a lot of hiking this year so I felt prepared for the hills and I decided I was going to ENJOY my run and not worry about my time (yeah, right!)!  

I was very happy that after the first mile I seemed to get acclimated to the elevation change and was able to find my breathing balance as well as my "trot."  The trail was merely, just a trail!  There were places were you could NOT pass anyone.  The trail was also poorly marked and even though I had listened to the announcer speak about the markings and the green flags, I was expecting they would be better marked!  I was running right along and TWICE I got on the wrong trail!  That was infuriating!!!!  I apologized to the man following me (I passed him earlier in the run and then he stayed behind me) that I probably led him off the right trail.  Glad he was a good sport and a great support as well, when I stopped at one point and asked him if I was on the right trail.  

Anyway, I was happy to come to the finish line and Alesha told me that Katreese said to her after she finished and they were waiting for me, "I think my mom got lost!!"  Alesha said she was starting to think the same thing! 

Also, it was fun because they had a kid's run before the 6K and 10K, so Treva participated in that with Nolan and Ty (Russ and Alesha's boys).  We thought it was going to be one mile, but turned out it was only half mile run, but it was still fun for Treva and the boys.
