SUNDAYS

My favorite day of the week is Sunday.  I remember as a child growing up that I also looked forward to Sunday.  In the morning we would go to our church meeting and then come home to wonderful smells of a roast in the oven.  Next would be a big homemade spread put on the table by Mom and often my sister and I were also helping in the kitchen.  The atmosphere was relaxed and happy, extra care was put into setting the table (often we folded the napkins into something snazzy and put out Mom's china!), tummy's were filled to the brim!!!

It seems like I have enjoyed more than ever our Sundays together as a family.  I am happy that the traditions are being passed down to my children.  A morning drive to our church meeting, fellowship, driving back home to an aromatic house, filled with the smell of Sunday dinner.  Yesterday, Treva commented that you didn't even have to open the front before you could smell the ham roast cooking in the oven!  Preparations in the kitchen have become even more enjoyable as my children have grown.  I have such happy helpers, humming hymns from our morning meeting.  Taking extra time for our Sunday dinner for a wonderful home cooked meal is rewarding to hear my family comment on how good everything tastes.  Oftentimes, when I am paid a compliment, I have to remind them that someone else had a hand in the making as well, and the compliments are shared around!  Ham, potatoes and gravy, salad, and asparagus.  It doesn't even have to be fancy!!

After our Sunday dinner, I look forward to my uninterrupted nap, thanks to my hubby on duty!!  The little's nap as well and then in the afternoon we usually try to get outside (me for a hike up the mountain and them for helping Daddy or taking a slow ride on the ATV.)  The evening is our weekly time for popcorn, fruit, cheese & crackers (or whatever is in the refrigerator) and games, although we haven't done that lately with our newest addition!!  All in all, it makes for a very nice day!!

Yesterday morning picture of my boys!!!

Picture of Katreese (yeah, my pale faced girl) and
Bereket after getting home!
Had to include this picture of Bereket sticking out
his tongue, being goofy!

My pretty daughter!

Eden's lovely hair!

Treva and Eden in the kitchen making the salad!

Backside pict - capturing them both very into their
work and Eden's amazing hair free in the back!
Eden was very proud of her apron.  She LOVES
helping in the kitchen and often asks for a job.
This picture was taken last Sunday.  I found them this way on the
couch so I couldn't resist!
Bella in her seat on the way home from meeting last Sunday!

Picture from last Sunday on the way home.
Bereket still often gets zoned out in the car
but he is doing better.
