Quiet Boxes

I mentioned in my preparation for summer, that I would be putting together "quiet boxes" for my kids.  I did that and had a lot of fun!  I did not put one together for Treva or Cyrus since Cyrus is gone most of the time anyway and I felt it was too "young" for Treva.  She has since voiced otherwise.  When I was shopping for them I explained to the kids the whole purpose of these special boxes.  Everything that I put in them was new so shortly afterwards they kept asking to play with them but I wanted to save them for special times when I felt we really needed them.  

Today was one of those days.  Eden made some very poor choices and I spent time with her and lets just say, my other kids were feeling traumatized by her actions.  ME TOO!!  It was just a hard morning!!  It has been lovely and overcast here with rain.  Hard to believe and I have been enjoying it but this threw off some of our chores because of the rain.  That meant Eden had fewer chores and left time for her to make poor choices in her "unstructured" time.  

After our morning, one of the kids asked if they could play with the quiet boxes today!  PERFECT!!!  I was so very glad I had them together and ready!! They were needing a little something special anyway and it is great for the rainy day weather.  Eden and Bereket are still sleeping, so on top of it, they are quiet and don't interfere with naps.  

I wanted to give you a little glimpse of what I found fun for the kids for their boxes....

I found these cute little baskets at Target in their $1 section.  

This is Eden's box.  They all got new coloring books, reading books, and snacks.

Little Bear's looks like this.  Play dough, slinky, cars, bubbles, new books, etc.
