Kindergarten Graduation

My baby graduated from Kindergarten last night!!  You would think the more you experience this, the less you would react, yet I think it is the most emotional I have been at a Kindergarten graduation.  Well, maybe not and mind you, I wasn't bawling my eyes out, I was just emotional and having a hard time watching my BIG kindergartner!

Bella was bouncing off the walls when I picked her up Yesterday after school.  I asked her if she was excited because of the graduation and she said, "NO!  That will be embarrassing!!"  Yet, I think she was!!!  She also told me that after they flipped their hat strings (tassels) to the other side that she would be in first grade!!  No more Kindergarten for her!!

When I watched her in the program / graduation, I was thinking how far she has come in one year!!  Wow, this girl was shy and much more quiet and she has blossomed and now writes letters (notes) all the time!!

Before the graduation, getting her cap and t-shirt on!  What a big girl!!

walking in

There were 4 eight grade graduates and 6 kinder girls graduating from our small Seiad school this year.

standing proud.

First and second graders making music.

Terry has cooked at this school for over 30 years (she was the cook when Cade attended school there.)

She is retiring.  Katreese and I put the bouquet together for her from our garden.  She was quite emotional

Singing their song

...and the other 3 Kinders.

Here is them singing... or chanting...:)

The kinders drew what they want to be when they grow up and then
on the back they wrote a couple of sentences about it and shared with the crowd.
Bella's was, "I want to be a mom when I grow up so I can teach my
children to be kind to one another!!"  Wow, be quiet my soul.......!

Getting her diploma from her teacher.  The lady in the denim jumper is the Kinder aide.

All smiles!

Her friend, Carmi, getting her diploma.

moving their tassels!  Love this picture!

Doesn't Bella look so proud to now be in first grade?!

Yep, she is proud all right!!

Going off stage.

The graduates walk through the rest of the kids in school who are holding
their hands together above them!

Bella thought this was pretty cool!!

Clarabella and her best friend, Carmi!

Another great friend of hers, Isabella!

So glad these 2 had a little time to reconnect.
Have to do the silly pose.

Now for serious.  Reminiscing about last year these
2 graduating from 8th grade.

this is quite confusing to me.

In UK and in Europe we graduate from a university with a degree that we have earned and it is marked with a ceremony at the university where the graduands wear a university gown with the hood appropriate to their discipline.

Surely small children do not graduate, but simply move from one class up to another.
They are hardly likely to fail to get a degree.

But then, I'm always having a hard time understanding Americans.
