JANUARY

Two years ago in January we started this adoption process mess of filling out our first papers.  We signed adoption contracts.  There were so many unknowns, fears, wonders, yet excitement for what lay ahead on our journey.  There was no way we could comprehend what lay ahead for us, but there was a peace....  One year later in January again we saw the faces of our new daughter and our new son for the first time.  I remember feeling thankful that those faces would help me to put more purpose in the waiting.  We officially accepted their referrals January 26th.  
I remember last year at Medford Special Meeting thinking to myself (during meeting), "Our row will be full with our family of eight!"  This year our row was full with eight, but only because my Mom is here with us and I am really grateful for that.  I need her here probably more than she knows.  
We are still anxiously waiting to hear news on Bereket's case.  I am remaining optimistic that we will hear soon and have reserved airplane tickets to leave this weekend if everything pans out.  Last week we found out that the adjudicators from Rome were in Washington D.C. on training and today is a national holiday!!  It has been a long weekend.  


I am especially thankful for Medford Special Meeting Yesterday.  It was such an encouragement for me to just keep believing, keep trusting in God's will.  Too often I get caught up in what I think seems right.  I was keenly reminded of impressions that were placed on my heart at Special Meeting there last year.  Thankful for God's patience in dealing with me!
