What's Up With This?!!

Last night it started pouring down rain and it has been raining almost nonstop today!!  Weird, cool, weather for July!!  While I am happy that I don't have to worry about watering for the remaining of the week at least, how is a gal supposed to get outside and get things done when the weather is like this?!!  I have to say, this weather kinda made it hard to keep on task with my chore list, so I curled up on my bed while Bella was napping and I took a nap too!!  Maybe it is just what the doctor ordered for me!!  It has been a lot of busy, which is nothing new, but with the kids all home, I have to keep them busy (morning chore lists and projects) and then afternoons they generally get some play time!  It still makes it hard for me to get some quiet time.

Yesterday Cyrus and I decided to keep plugging on through his "stuff" in his room and organize so when the time comes for him to move to the cabin to his new "room", it will be simpler.  After wreaking havoc in his room, with things scattered everywhere, he got a little agitated, especially when his siblings  (especially Bella) came in his room to "help out" too!!  Around 6:00 last night he told me, "Mom, why don't I just move into the cabin right now?!!  I want to!"  I said, "You do?  Are you sure?"  So, we started moving things, his dresser, hanging clothes, shoe rack, etc!  I couldn't believe we were getting such a late start, but by that time, he had gotten through most of the organizing, so it was just a matter of moving it into the cabin and finding a home there for all his things!  I put Treva to making spaghetti for supper (that's what is really great with older kids!!) so I could help Cyrus.  

I found I was a little sad with him moving out of the house, almost like he was leaving!  With the two new kiddos coming, eventually Cyrus had to move to the cabin so we can move Treva and Katreese to his room and then have room for Eden and Bereket with Bella in her room!  We have talked about this for some time, so it was just a matter doing it and really, I didn't want Cyrus to move out any sooner than he had to!!  I wish this meant that we heard that we have passed court, but we are still waiting to hear that news and still are hoping it will be soon!

After Cyrus' first night in the cabin (his cousin, Clark, spent the night with him in there) I decided it is probably good timing for Cyrus since the cousins will be together for almost the next three weeks and then before we know it, he will be getting ready to start high school!  They start early in Yreka (he has orientation on the 15th of August and his real first day is the 17th!!)

I took pictures after he had moved a lot of things, but here has been his main abode for the last years!!

 Cyrus helped paint and redecorate his room a few years ago.  He chose the colors he wanted the stripes and he wanted the blue stripes to be wider than the tan!  He helped me paint the room and was very helpful!  He also found out how much work it is!!

 Tired out after such a big day  - not his typical kind of work!!  Exhausting!!
