Today we were given the go-ahead to purchase our tickets for a definite court date of June 6th!! Somehow, we are going to get on that plane, the week after our church convention. We fly out of Medford, thankfully, on Friday and we get to Addis Ababa on Saturday (4th) evening. We will only really have a couple of days to meet the kiddos, which I am sad about. We have to appear at court on Monday, the 6th and answer a couple of questions with our passports and ID in hand!! That's it!! Then, the day after (Tues the 7th) we are to fly out of Addis Ababa at 11 pm so that we can make it to Medford on Wednesday in time for Cyrus' 8th grade graduation on the 9th!! The kids' last day of school is Friday the 11th and that will wrap up a very busy couple of weeks!!!! Total craziness, but I keep telling myself the sooner we get to ET for court, the sooner they become officially ours and the sooner we can BRING THEM HOME!!!
It is hard to wrap my mind around the time that we will finally be able to meet Eden and Bereket and finally hold them in our arms!!! AND THEN? We have to leave them there!! I think my heart is already breaking thinking about that, but somehow, we have to get through that to finally be able to bring them home. I am hoping very much that the time from our first trip to our second (for embassy) will go quickly!
So what have I been doing today, besides purchasing international tickets?!!! Baking bread to take to our church convention (we leave one week from today---AAAGH!)!!
Making buns for Ethiopian sloppy joes that we are having tonight!!
I put the bread in the freezer to keep it fresh and so I can get the job done sooner!! It's looking like we'll have close to 20 loaves to take with us if I can fit them all in!
