More Challenges We Face

I wish I had some exciting news, something uplifting & enjoyable for others to read.  That's me, just wanting life to be all good, no hardships, right?!!  You would think at this point in my life I would easily accept life's difficulties.  Not true.  On Friday we got hit with a pretty discouraging letter from our coordinator.  To try to describe it simply, new came from ET saying that they are going to be changing the number of cases  (for court) that they process daily - DRAMATICALLY!!  The court processes 40 cases on average and they are decreasing it to FIVE!!!  We have been informed that they will start this process immediately.  The reason?  The court cannot meet the demand with the personnel that they have.  I do believe this, because of the popularity of adoption in ET and the more documents that are required means more time involved with each case.  This definitely left me in a very discouraged state, I have to admit.  When we think we are finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel....  My weekend was hard.
This morning, I talked with Brett, our coordinator, whom I have really grown to like!!  She definitely encouraged us to be positive and to remember how a year ago was when they established the new requirement of traveling twice to ET instead of just one time.  When that was going on, they kept going back and forth until an agreement was made.  (meaning that they may have to go back and forth some until they reach a conclusion.)  It also appears to be a positive thing that we are seeing the government in ET stepping up to the plate (so to speak) and trying to work things out with the adoption program to keep it open because of outside pressures (due to the popularity rise & unethical procedures).  We feel hopeful that this will resolve, all in time.
I found an e-mail on my adopt ET groups board, which I try to avoid, but right now there is a lot of interesting talk going on.  They said, "Rumors have surfaced about the ET courts cutting the numbers of cases they can hear per day.  This was not posted by courts, it was posted by MOWA (Ministry of Women Affairs).  MOWA has posted a notice with the courts, stating due to their facilities and staffing, they are only able to provide recommendations for up to 5 cases per day.  This has happened before, and is most likely an attempt to get more staff for their Department.  There is a network in ET who regulates these types of issues and has met today in attempt to resolve this matter.  Our director does not feel that there is any reason to worry or panic."
I know that this has a lot of truth to it.  Our coordinator also confirmed they would be meeting to try to resolve the issue.  On the other hand, MOWA actually has a lot to do with the adoption program.  We can only sit back and wait....... some more.  Never do we forget the faces that are waiting, though.

It seems to me the hardest part of adopting is waiting for paper work, when your new child is waiting in need! Keep your head up! Kylee
