A DATE WITH MY HUBBY!!

It is pretty exciting news when I get to go on a date with my wonderful hubby!!  Yeah, we went to a logging conference breakfast yesterday in Redding!!  Pretty exciting, huh?!!  Well, when you have four kids ( & soon to be 6 kids), you have to take any time that you can get (when it's just the 2 of us) to make it a date.  It takes a lot of juggling / planning to make it possible.  Thanks to our friends / neighbors to get our older kids to and from school for us & feed them!!  They had a wonderful time at your house, Eric and Renee, as always!!  We appreciate it!!  We dropped the older kids off at 5:30 am and Clarabella rode with us to Redding, where we met up with Cade's sister, Jeanie while she was in route to school with her 3 kiddos and Clarabella was as pleased as ever to get to join in the fun of taking the kids to school.  Cade & I sped off (literally) to the conference breakfast and met up with his mom and dad there!!  I had the privilege of witnessing an award be presented to my great mother-in-law there (much to her shock!) and I was holding back tears for her!!  As the man that presented her award went on and on about all she has accomplished and given her time to (KARE, Women In Timber, school board, EMT, volunteer, etc) I could not believe how much she has done!!!  Really, I think the whole crowd was thinking, who on earth could do this much, super woman?!!  Then, they said she has 4 children, 21 grand kids (that includes Kohlie & Sadie, much to my satisfaction) and 2 more children that are about to be adopted into her family (tear, gulp, emotions!!) and everyone gasped!!  Really, amazing!!!  She was completely in shock, I think, as she went to get her award & was about speechless as they gave her the microphone!!  It took her a while to recover, understandably!!  I completely agreed that she could not have been more deserving of that award!!  When she was walking away, the announcer said to her, "I bet you don't have a TV!"  She looked at him and said, "No, I don't.  Why do you ask?"  He said, "Because there is no way that you could have a TV and accomplish that much!!"  Later, Cade told me that when he talked to her privately he apologized for putting her on the spot, but was telling her that TV is one of the biggest problems of society now-days!!
I had to leave the conference early to pick of Bella so that Jeanie could go to work at the school for a few hours.  Bella & I shopped a little (we are doing a whole lot of shopping for some reason these days!).  We met up with Jeanie after she finished working & Jeanie took us to some thrift stores!!  It is always a challenge and thrill to get great finds!!  These were some of my thrill finds for the day: black MUDD shoes for Treva that look like they have not been worn once, Gymboree cute sweater that is in tip-top shape for Bereket (2T), cute little brown skirt (cotton) for Bella, Gap corduroy coat for Bereket (2T), jean jacket (stretch denim) w/ butterflies for Eden, a set (6) of old fashioned juice glasses since Bella just broke the second to last juice glass the other day and I did find an American Eagle long sleeved shirt for me and a couple other things!!!  I am trying not to buy clothes for Eden & Bereket yet, but when if I see some great things that are in great shape that I know they can grow into and that are very cheap - priced, it is pretty hard to pass up!!!
We got home later than I had hoped and then I helped the kids put together some hand-made valentine cards for their party today!!!  We have had such a busy week and our evenings have been filled, so it definitely turned into a last minute thing, which I try to avoid.  It is always a bigger project than I anticipate, but, I don't like buying valentine cards & half of the cards I don't even like!!!!
All in all, another good day was had by all!!
