One of the highlights of our trip was our friends. It was complete happen-stance that Gary and Pat Rupp were visiting the island the same time as we were (they came in some days after us but flew out the same day.) I personally did not know this couple well, only from Cade. Right before we left for Kauai, we were told by someone else that they would be visiting the same time. When Cade and I were en route, Cade and I were talking about them and Cade looked at me and said, "You know they adopted, right?!!" I was floored!! WOW! That was how are time together was with them too! What an amazing couple! Besides that, Gary and Pat were staying in a condo just a couple of miles up the road from us (Kapaa)! They invited us all to dinner one night and we had a nice time together.
One of our highlights was our boat trip to the Napali Coast! It was just spectacular!! Margaret went with us which was extra special! I was extremely thankful for the motion sickness pill that Margaret gave to both Cade and I because there were a LOT of people who got sick on the trip. It was just the beginning of their winter season and the ocean was pretty choppy that day! I took some pictures of when our captain was hitting the waves full on so we could get more of the effect of the waves! Pretty amazing! This is where I went snorkeling for the first time. We were supposed to go on the Napali coastline but it was too rough! It was pretty neat but took a little time getting used to! We also saw dolphins but they didn't jump or anything. They were pretty shy. On the way back we also saw whales but I didn't even have my camera handy!

After our trip on the ocean, we met up with Gary, Pat, & Sara at the Coffee Plantation (mostly for free coffee - ha!) and we took the tour. I was pretty wiped out after our boat trip! That afternoon and night when I closed my eyes, everything was moving like the ocean! It was crazy! I also became dizzy in the evening when my medication wore off. I think and my equilibrium was trying to balance back out!
