We arrived to Kauai on Saturday afternoon and we had one whole day of down time at our resort (Sunday) before we started getting out. It was very overwhelming getting there and being some place you have no idea where you really are and what is surrounding you... and then you start looking into information of things to do... and the list goes on and on (and the costs of course too!)! At our resort they have a concierge to help arrange your activities outside of the resort and they get prices through Expedia so they are good deals. When we had our meeting to newcomers at our resort, there were only a couple other older (larger) couples in our group as well as a single older lady and there was a drawing offered to the people who attended the meeting for a kayak trip. Well, we were the only people interested in that, so we got the discounted kayak trip. This was our first experience outside of the resort.
Cade and I rented a car first thing Monday morning (you almost have to on that island)and then drove to the river where we would be taking our kayak trip (with a hike to a secret(not anymore) sacred water fall. The only downside to that was that they had been having a drought and so the waterfall was not running...! Well, it was a great trip anyway.
