Moving Into the Cold Zone

It's hard to believe that a week ago all of my flowers were still pretty happy. Some of my annuals were definitely done, which is expected this time of the year but I was amazed how pretty and green and lively most of my flowers were until the second week of November!!!

Then, BAM, the night before last was our first major freeze and freeze it definitely did!!!  Bereket looked out the window and said, "SNOW!!" and believe you me, I was quick to correct him on that one, "It's just a bit of frost!!"  It seemed just overnight it turned to winter and all of our leaves are dropping at once!!!  SIGH!  Well, it's bound to happen, right?!!  It's time to let go of the pretty landscape.

I have been trying to get the boys together for their senior photo shoot before we lost all the pretty scenery!!  Between football, hunting season, and school it has been impossible!!  Yesterday, I finally nailed the boys down to get it done!! They were such good sports and I think it helps that they both were doing it together!!  (You may notice pink cheeks and runny noses in the pictures, though! That was from the temperatures dropping at a rapid rate in time for our second hard freeze of the season!!)

Time for a cozy get-away to celebrate our anniversary!!!

On to winter!  Bundled up for a new season.  Time to embrace it!!
