We still have ups and downs with Eden. Like I have mentioned before, any changes will throw her for a loop. They have been doing a lot of testing at school that has changed her schedule and then we have been talking about going to our annual church convention next week. Between those two things and seeing suitcases being pulled out (I believe this is a trigger for her) Eden has not been doing very well.
Tonight on the way home from school (after talking with teachers about some big problems again today at school) Bella asked me, "Mommy, can we take her back to Ethiopia?"....and my heart broke! This was in front of Eden and I paused as I considered how to answer.
I told her, "No, Bella, we will not and can not take Eden back to Ethiopia." I felt this was important for Eden to hear again anyway. Then, I told her she would miss Eden because she still loves her and we all love her and would miss her if she was not with us. I did validate Bella's feelings, though, of being tired of Eden talking about her problems. I hate the trauma and things Eden faced in Ethiopia to cause her problems but we all are struggling in the light of Eden's latest schemes...!
I don't ask people to pray for things because I feel that is not right, but I do hope that if you are moved to pray for Eden and our family that you will do so!!

Eden will return to Ethiopia one day because that is where her heart is. She doesn't want to be an American. Is there an Ethiopian community near you that she could share her love of her country with?
A lot is being asked of her to fit in with your ways.
She sounds like an intelligent lassie and I wish her well.
Eden does not have any desire to go back to Ethiopia right now & someday she may want to return, which we wd be glad to take her for a visit but she endured a lot of trauma there & she will never forget it!! It will always be a part of her unfortunately!! You r right, Eden is very smart!
We do not have any Ethiopian communities around here although we havr ET music cds but I don't really feel that wd be helpful to our situation right now! Thanks for your well wishes!
