One of Kohlie's greatest hopes was that she would meet her baby sister before cancer took her life away. She was only four years old but had the maturity of a much older child because of the experiences she faced in her short life and aggressiveness of her cancer. Kohlie's best last birthday present was life itself, and witnessing the new life of her baby sister come into our family. Kohlie was so proud to take her baby sister to the Children's Hopsital after she was born and show the doctors and nurses and her friends there!
She was a proud big sister and even when her cancer became so painful, Kohlie never forgot her new baby sister and was very concerned about Clarabella if she ever cried out! I have a picture of Kohlie holding Clarabella's tiny hand and that was common especially in the car. Kohlie sat beside Clarabella's infant seat and held her hand... almost ALWAYS! It's almost as if she knew her days were numbered with her little sister and she was making her impression.
To this day, that picture often comes to mind of Kohlie holding Clarabella's hand. It feels like Bella has a true bond with her sister, Kohlie, even if she doesn't remember her. Bella absolutely LOVES looking at the pictures books and scrapbooks of Kohlie. It is sweet and very special.
