The Birthday Boy

It's some little / big boy's birthday around here!!  Bereket turns three years old today which is pretty hard to believe but we are celebrating and putting together a birthday party for him when my sister, Crystal, is here with us!  We sang happy birthday to him and he seemed a little confused.  I asked him who's birthday it was and he says, "Bella?"  "Eden?"  "No," I tell him.  Finally I tell him it's his birthday and he goes, "OH!!"  What a funny little ham he is!

 Update on Little Bear.  He is now going poo and pee in the potty chair.  When we started a couple weeks ago, he mostly was doing his big business (bm) in the potty (which I was elated with) and now he is figuring it out more and going more #1 as well!!  As some of you may remember, for whatever reason, he used to sulk for quite some time (while he would be in the corner doing his big business) and even after a new diaper, it seemed to linger on!!  One day, probably three weeks ago on a Saturday (Cade was home) I just decided we would go back to the potty chair.  We now have "potty times" probably very similar to what he had in the orphanage, only he doesn't sit there for hours on end!  Anyway, I am proud of him and I think this change has been really good for him!!

Bereket is becoming more forthright with what he wants and I love to really see him coming out of his shell more and more.  I know, six months seems like a long time to some, but really it isn't!  Little B. is still very much a boy!  His eyes light up when he hears loud cars, especially dirt bikes or ATVs!! 

Another thing that I have not followed up on is Little B's scheduled dental surgery for when he jammed his teeth!  We have now put a scheduled surgery on the back burner two times and we are currently much happier with the relaxed approach of waiting because he is not having ANY trouble at all with his teeth and they are very functional.  Eventually, when he is getting closer to getting his permanent teeth in, we will have to have the surgery to make room for his permanent teeth, but there seems to be NO reason to put him through a surgery when he is doing absolutely fine!!  Even one tooth which he cracked the root of (the dentist said it would not ever become firm again) is not loose and very functional!!

I don't feel like I am giving this post the attention I would like.  It has been interrupted at least three times so I am thinking I will let this be all for now.  More to come on the birthday party!!!  

P.S. - I am relishing these few summer days we have left before the kids go to school so please understand that may be why I am not spending as much time blogging!!!!
