It happened!! We got the call that we have been waiting for on Friday, Jan. 14th! Ever since then, things have been such a blur!! Names, ages, faces, medical profiles, & a whole lot of emotions to go with it all!! Since we have had the two calls that didn't work out, our whole family has been especially stand-offish & trying to not get attached emotionally, but it is pretty hard when you see these sweet faces & think, these are going to be OUR kids!!! We have not formally accepted this 5 yr old girl & 14 mo. old sweet boy, but it just feel RIGHT this time!!!! Cade said that before I even said it, but I was feeling the same.
We had company coming to our house on Friday, so I was busily cleaning, cooking, & getting prepared for them & for more time that a lot lately, was not thinking too much about our referral. So the call put everything on the back burner. Our coordinator told me all the details & sent me the huge e-mail w/ so many attachments & I think before I even opened the pictures I was holding back tears. Brett, our coordinator told me the little one is so stinkin' cute & she was right!! She saw him in ET just about a month ago & so she told me that he was a complete ham in front of the camera. His father is unknown & his young mother could not support him w/out an income of her own. The 5 yr old sweet girl w/ a serious face is the girl that Brett has secretly been hanging on to for our family (in Oct. they put together her child profile report). She just felt like she would fit so nicely in our family and that there would be a good chance that another one would come along to be referred w/ her. Her mother & father both passed away from AIDS in 2005 & 2007 & so her elderly aunt was raising her, but just could not provide for her anymore. She has older brothers that are living & that her aunt also helped raise.
These 2 children are unrelated, so that means there is more expense because they are processed seperately and they don't even know each other yet. They are at 2 different orphanges. We had hoped for siblings, but primarily because it means less expense. We know that if it is meant to be that these two are to be a part of our family, that it will all work out. Until we have formally accepted, I will not post pictures of them.
I know there is no way that you can be fully prepared for this moment. It is amazing & exciting & exhilerating & overwhelming & nerve-wracking all at the same time!!

Congrats that is amazing! Are either of them at Miskaye? We will be visiting Miskaye next month and could take photos for you. Jenny
Oh, that is WONDERFUL news! Can't wait to see pictures, of course. Hope everything falls into place and the time flies by for you. Congratulations & hugs all around!
