Yep, we are chosing to take the responsibility of 2 children from Ethiopia!! It is still sinking in.... now we know the two kiddos that will complete our family & simply said, "I feel joy & peace!" There are so many other emotions that the past week has brought, questioning are these really the ones we have been waiting so long for, & then things just kept falling in place as we were financially preparing to right a very large check!! Truly amazing!! We emptied our savings (which we have proudly kept $$ going in there for years) into our checking. Just like that, no more savings!!
This morning when our family was gathered together to have a bible study, Cade starts to explain to Clarabella (2 1/2 yr) that she has a new sister & brother & tells her their names because she is hearing their names from the other kids. We don't know what she is comprehending, but she repeats their names, Eden & Bereket (she can say his name too!) Katreese was looking at their pictures the other day & then she looked up at me & said, "Mom, I think they will fit in nice to our family!" It melted my heart!
I have to admit that I am scared of how hard the waiting will be, waiting to go over for the first trip (court) & then having to return w/out them and then waiting to go back to ET to bring them home. We are seeing more delays in the whole adoption process in ET and so we will not expect to have them home before the summer. I hope to have the summer to adjust w/ them at home before we go into a new school year. I understand that the adjustment may take a lot more time than just a few months. I also am preparing for the adjustment for our family to be challenging. It is still really nice & a relief to have these little faces in our minds now & somehow it helps me deal with the waiting. I plan to post pictures of them soon.
